Leadership Opportunities
Valuing Our Children Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of Valuing Our Children is made up of fourteen members and meets monthly. Five members are parents who have taken VOC programs. All members are chosen by a nominating committee of the Board and elected at the Annual Meeting.
Parents' Planning Group
Parents who have participated in at least two programs of Valuing Our Children are eligible to participate in the Parents' Planning Group. This group meets twice a year to evaluate programs and make suggestions for new programs. Parents from the committee present formal recommendations to the Board of Directors.
Leadership Development
The Active Community Education (A.C.E.) program provides information about resources in the North Quabbin area and teaches skills for becoming involved in the community. A.C.E. graduates can work on projects with the support of the Community Coordinator.
Participants of Valuing Our Children programs have opportunities for continued training and education in family and community issues through workshops and conferences.
Patch Parents' Council
The Patch Parents' Council (PPC) is a support group of concerned caregivers and parents who live in the North Quabbin area. The goal of the PPC is to support the well-being of families by strengthening relationships within the community. The group also encourages social responsibility and civic activities.
